Answers & some more

Thanks Y’all for your comment in my last post. (how do I do this link thing self?) This love interest of mine is actually an ex-toaster. When he was asking me out in 2006 I kinda liked him and believe me when I say I like him loads more now than then. He is tall (Not as tall as my boyfriend tho), interesting to talk to (Compared to a lots of guys I know who are just bores! God they should take lessons from him), he has a good job, has a nice ride, looks good and most importantly he is so so so so very very intelligent (am a sucker for intelligent guys who are not too nerdish)

Don’t worry am not going to cheat on my boyfriend, He has a girlfriend now anyways. And I do believe in KARMA. Its just annoying that I can be attracted (you people said its attraction not luv right?) to him for this long. Anyways that is that…

In response to your questions in “Meme about Me” Why did I wait for 4 years before having sex with my boyfriend? We started dating when I was 17 and he was 22. wouldn’t it have been child abuse? LOL. Ok seriously sex I have always believe goes hand in hand with luv. I’v loved him for a long while and I knew he felt the same way but I wanted to be ready; whateva that means.

2nd question; Having waited for that long why not save it till marriage. My dear in a way I’v always wanted to keep my virginity till marriage bed but after our 4th anniversary I began to wonder, what if we don’t make it (I mean marriage) you know sometimes love is not sufficient, what you want is not what you get, man proposes Fate/ God disposes and all that. After all we’v been thru together I dint want anybody else to be my first, besides I had gotten to the point where I wont have any regrets, or wish I could undo the deed, or any such reaction if he had said immediately after sex “DOLL I don’t want you again, this is goodbye”. I was READY. LOL. Though btw me & u: during the 2 wks spotting aftermath I had some regrets. LOL

Today is one of them days when I don’t feel too great. Am lacking clarity as regards what I want to do with my life, I luv my job, the pay is good but the hours are way too long. I have worked for 2 years today (today is my Job anniversary). Last week I got a job at a bank (research and budget planning unit). The pay is 150% increase to my salary. Its unbelievably way too much money for a girl my age I tell you. LOL But the thing is am not exactly sure I want to work in the bank, I know its not marketing or something but it still feels like it’s a wrong move, my job feels wrong, this feels wrong too, I dunno what I want to do with my career, I want to do my own thing cuz this white collar job is not it, but WHAT, WHERE, HOW, Why???? I dunno.

This has got to be my longest post eva. Apologies. Have a gd weekend people.

Congrats on your 2 year job anniversary, your CV is growing...
Please don't feel that some money is too much for you...all you need is wisdom on how to manage money...
Concerning the move, if it doesn't feel right, probably it isn't right...while you give urself sometime to think about it, you can search within you to find out the answers to what you really want...(okay, let me get a grip, my comment is getting as long as your post, sorry)

as Oluwadee said, pray for God's guidance and all will be well with you! Congrats on 2yrs @ J.O.B. and hey no money is ever too much (you could invest it and watch it grow!)

Babes, you shouldn't think of any money as too much for ur age o!
You can always invest & watch it grow.

As for your carrer, i think you should think about stuff you derive pleasure doing, and find a way to make it into a profitable buisness. I think when you enjoy what you're doing, it is more like a part of ur life than a J-O-B!

if its feels wrong maybe you shouldnt go

but then again
how can u say no to more money?

but seriously
if you dont like what to do for a living after a while
the money will suck!!!!!!!!!

Doll...if my estimation is right, you're in ur very early 20s. This is a time for you to take risks if you feel restless. If I were you I would look for a job that allows me some flexibility or time to do other things. You work really long hours now and will not be able to make other plans cos of time restraints.

The other thing u could do is take the bank job and give urself another 2 years to get out if you're too scared to take risks now. You get more pay, save hard, make contacts and then start ur own biz.

Good luck my dears.

all i can say is that u should really pray and ask God for direction in ur life, so u don't make a mistake. U can start from thinking about what you really love doing, and where you want to be ten years from today, and what you want to be doing then.

in the meantime, you are still very young, so doing the job and investing the cash wouldn't harm you a bit. it's just that most time, people say they will do that for a short while, save, and leave, but then, the salary and security blows them away, and before they know it, ten years is gone, and with it, their dreams.

if you wouldn't mind a little stress, read The Parable of Dollars, by Same Adeyemi, and The Artist Way, by Julia Camero. Im sure at the end of both, you will have an idea and think something up.

okay, me and long long comments.

i make top ten here.
goodluck and happy two years anniversary

Oh, and if you don't want that pay hike, then have that bank call me. I'll take the job for you.

I'm kinda with Parakeet on this. Take the new job for a little while, while formulating your next course of action. Sometimes when we don't know where to go next, the thing to do is wait and keep doing what we're doing to the best of our ability. Keep your head up girl, and keep seeking God for His will.

Maybe there is a reason you got this job ...To help you financially to the next level as per what you really are ordained to do.

Everything happens for a reason...we just need to find out what that reason is and embrace it.

Too much money? Only if one does not use it well. May u have the confidence to use it well...Babes, you will. Above all trust your instincts for that is God in your heart.

17 and 22? Way cool.. child abuse! lmao..nt in nigeria o!

Congrats on the new job but pray hard habefore you jump in...

The virginity part- maybe you had regrets 'cause it wasn't quite right thats if you are a christian. Same thing happened with my first kiss (but duh, thats a kiss!) I'm waiting till marriage and so is my hawt boyfriend.

But God forgives (as in wait till marriage part. You can reagain ur virginity and wait till you're actually married then your boyfriend will be stuck with the mystery thing)

...and 4yrs thats sweet!

Goodluck dear.

Bank jobs pay handsomely nowadays but at a cost. You're gonna burn yourself out!

I got wind of news that bankers are dropping dead because the job is stressful. Im not surprised because all banks are trying to make the next consolidation so they'll drive their staff to the limit.
But they pay well...thats the only goody about it. So, the question would be; do u prefer a loaded salary over happiness and peace of mind?

Doing ur own thing is the best provided u're ready to weather the storm. Starting may be tough but when u pull thru, u'll be glad u started.

What to do? Look for a problem that what u love doing can solve and turn it into a business...start off with that and along the line things will get clearer.

in the meantime, use ur current job as a training ground to gain some knowledge anyhows..no knowledge is lost!

its amazing how at some point we all ask ourselves the question what next. a young woman earning well, and living well is an amazing thing and if you have the opportunity to get money and exposure and challenge some new barriers and boundaries ...why not?. no money is too much money... it begs the question why r u restriciting yourself... so many people would kill for those opportunities... infact use ur current job to facilitate your retirement plan... finally there's no place like the presence of God to find out what the next move is!... now u make blogging so worth it!

At 22 you can still afford to take risks without making any lasting damage on your career progression..as you get older the chances of bouncing back after a wrong career move are much slimmer, plus you would have children plus their financial security to think about. so i would say take all the opportunities that come your way whilst you still young
