Life is one twisted irony!
When we were in secondary school, we all longed to get into university, freedom! School without uniform, campus life, less parental controls, etc.
Then we got to university and became fed up with endless lectures, project work, assignments, etc. The working class strata became more attractive, Imagine working hard and being paid at the end of the month as opposed to an A grade in our report cards. We imagine being able to spend money on some luxuries we craved but couldn’t dare to mention to our parents.
Then we graduate with good grades and get the dream job and realize that waking up at 5am to spend endless hours in traffic, to sit in front of the computer crunching numbers isn’t exactly fun. We find out soon enough that the take home doesn’t really take us home. Being among the working class population is not as exciting as we imagined it would be.
Then we begin to seek out the next new excitement. What next? Marriage of course. We begin to fantasize about finding “the one”. It would be nice to have someone to be there for us permanently, no worries about if we are wanted for just for sex, or for money, or for looks. This right here is for keeps, forever! Only to find out that living happily ever after is just a fantasy and idols have clay feet.
Then we graduate to giving birth to children only to realize that babies are super cute when they can be returned, not when you are stuck with them 24:7.
Then we wake up one day with 10 teeth, needing the support of a walking stick to move around and we wondered why we grew up, because growing up is indeed a TRAP.
My point???make the most of the phase of life you are right now, cause there is no turning back the hands of the clock.
P.S i'm cranky, anxious, on edge, and uneasy. I need a vacation!!!!!
I am trying to inhale, exhale...breathe

well said doll, life indeed is full of twisted ironies the more reason why we must make hay whiles the sun shines. Time wasted is never retrieved.
Awww pele dear. you'll be fine.
aside: i'll flog you o! I was itching for some wedding prep gist sef! Shey you don't know the whole of blogsville is planning this wedding ni? Take ya time o! :p
I've never been one to rush through life. I enjoyed being a teenager, had no desire to hurry and grow up. I just accept any phase of life i am knowing that the next phase will come whether i like it or not, all in due time. Life na jeje o.
I like this write-up though.
This is so true....we rush to do this and that but after its done we ask ourselves....Now What?
Lets try and take each day at a time and enjoy it.
You couldnt have captured the many phases more aptly.
Be easy on your self, we dont want you becoming a Bridezilla now.
Nice post, hugs!!! Don't be hard on yourself, I know that feeling, I feel like it would be fun to be a little girl forever but the saying goes, growth equals positive changes, hang in tight, hugs!
This is sooo true. I was one person that used to try to hurry the phases of my life up, until I found out that I was seeting myself up for regrets. I did a post that captured this your topic over 2 years ago, you can check it out through this link

you're so right...I was just telling myself this a few minutes ago
Take it easy *hug*
When you say it like that it sounds pretty depressing *sigh* But very very good advice!!

hang in there and shake it off. I agree with you, time and maturity will always have their way.
We often spend more time worrying about where we havent gotten to and forget to be grateful for where we are right now! Very well written... pls I need the vacation too... soooo didnt want to get out of bed early today but man must wack!
I didnt have the 'luxury' of growing up too fast. My dad made sure i went along with my age step by step. I was still wearing 'gathered' dresses with belts at the back after secondary school!
That said, i get ur point excatly. It is all futile! You see 16yr olds today behaving like 20yr olds just cos they cant wait to grow up. 2 of my young cousins almost disrespected me cos i told a man that was asking one of them out how old she really was. The man said they told him they were 21 (they actually dressed and made up the age) when they were actually 15! I try telling them to calm down a bit cos u will be a child for just a little while then u become an adult and that is for a very long time, savour ur childhood. Do they listen? For wia!
P:S - why are u feeling cranky, anxious and the rest abi u don carry belle? lol
Take it easy dear, you'll be fine.
I like this post, I've been thinking about this lately.
Deep...
I couldn't have read this at a better time. Thanks for reminding me to enjoy this phase of my life and today in particular.
Time is very precious and everyone should use it wisely. At school( I'm in high school) I pity some of my friends that just while away their time instead of doing something tangible. Great post though :)
inhale, exhale and breathe... this is life captured at its best.
Awwww....I hope you feel better! I totally agree with what you wrote. We should enjoy each phase of our life.
Don't be too hard on yourself dear! Big hugs and kisses! Feel better!
xoxo

Amazing Post! My one solution to all this horribleness? this fickleness of life? This never ending cycle of dissatisfaction?
Sundresses :).
And all (other) things pretty.
Thanks for this.
Like Joyce Meyers will say- enjoy the journey on the way to ur destination
U are so right...
Been asking myself this big question lately
"What is the fuss all about? really what next after the next....
I guess I will just have to make most of it...
