Insulating my heart

So the writer of one of the very few non 9ja blogs I read has been going through the aftermath of a failed relationship, which reminds me of the ordeal of literally feeling your heart breaking, the physical pain, the endless tears, the feeling inadequate, the depression, the discouragement, the disappointment.

Heartbreak is an awful thing…it is not what one can even wish an enemy…

But the good news is that it always passes…..just the way morning never fails to show up after every night.

When falling in love…it is always advisable to insulate your heart, to remember that always is not forever, I guess that may help lessen the inevitable ache if things don’t go as planned.

Every heart should be insulated….

….I know that….

Iv failed at this

I am falling for him already

It is kinda hard not to fall for a man that loves me (selflessly, generously, words fail me, so I will summarize it by saying) just right

What exactly is the point of love, if you don’t fall face flat into it completely without inhibition????

The point I am trying to make is that am really happy…I could get drunk on it..

How y’all doing?

I like the question you posed. What is the point of love if not to enjoy fully and in some ways become vulnerable. I don't know, that was how I used to look at it, until I fell on my face. Hehe. I now know that the heart is to be guarded jealously, even when we are in love, just to avoid the whole heart break cycle and feelings of inadequacy that come with it.

It is hard to insulate your heart, and then claim to love or be in love. Like you said, when you fall it hurts but we pick ourselves up and do it all over again.

I don't think there's any amount of insulating that can stop a heart from hurting after a break-up. To experience it all (love) we have to let go of all inhibitions.

Enjoy all the love that you're getting dear...we all deserve it!

you are either in love or not.you cant insulate ur heart, only your head.
how are u sweet?

I like Marilyn's take on this. Can't insulate the heart but the head. And that is what keeps us grounded.
Enjoy the flutter of the heart and have a lovely weekend, Missy.

@ Marilyn
Never heard it said that way b4. I like it. I like it a lot.

I'm so happy for you. Truly love is meant to be fully enjoyed or not at all.

marilyn is right on point.

fall flat, be vulnerable and be happy. think its love

Love - is based on being willingly vulnerable; trusting someone else I think.. Perhaps some hard-nosed pragmatism is also required though, ensuring the I's are dotted and the T's crossed.

Love is only for the brave who know how to balance the heart and the head.
Heartbreak is a bitch and I hope never to feel it again!

Being happy is great. bask in it and enjoy! Everyone deserves to be

I'm glad you're happy.

But i do think it's impossible to insulate your heart...especially one as emotional as mine...

anyway who am I to know?

Hmmmm... "When falling in love…it is always advisable to insulate your heart"

That is not love in the first place if one must insulate his/her heart before entering. lol

I'm finding myself falling at least in deep "like" of a man, and it's scaring the crap out of me. But, luckily the fact that I'm still healing doesn't scare him. I know I'll get there eventually.

Fall freely babe.....and let nature take it's course :-)

As for heartbreak, after going through one, I don't think I will ever let myself feel that way ever again.

Really what is the point of it all if you can't fall freely, without inhibitions?

I pray you remain this happy.
All the best.

The reason someone would go into a relationship is to hope it last forever but not for a short period of time....Being in love is a good thing. Love Freely and enjoy the wonderful feeling. Heartbreaks happens but ther is someone special out there for each and every1(Dats what i believe) Glad to know you happy

love? love? love?...how can we survive in this world without it?...makes life worth living when every other thing had failed...am happy for you...take care huh?

"the physical pain, the endless tears, the feeling inadequate, the depression, the discouragement, the disappointment...." you can say that again...heartbreak is as the name implies heart break...:-)

However, I will always tell any woman to give all of herself each time because she has the ability, and love is reciprocal.

is it really possible to 'insulate the heart' and completely fall in love at the same time?

Ha! I suppose its never easy to practice what you preach lol! Yeah, there is absolutely nothing safe about falling in love! I confess, i never have- maybe it's cause i just can't let go enough to take the plunge for anybody. I keep wondering why i should let myself feel that for someone who is just human, you know? But that's just me, and i don't know what tomorrow brings :D

Good luck though xoxo

I just got into a new relationship myself, and it is so hard to find a balance between self preservation and loving 100%. Ultimately, I guess one decides to take the risk as we humans have been created to love. Thanks for commenting on my blog. Take care.
