Random thoughts

Dressing up this morning, I got extremely upset, to find what to wear is now war. I need a wardrobe overhaul. I hate buying clothes in Nigeria because most times when I go shopping I end up buying stuff just for the sake of it not that they were absolutely irresistible. I’ve been saving to go to Dubai but the rate at which this whole job thingy is going I doubt I’ll have time to travel this year. So am going shopping next weekend, sisters resident in Naija help a girl out, with the list and location of your favorite shops pls.

Now I understand why parents get over anxious bout their children, my younger bother is sixteen. Just completed secondary school, going to Uni next month. Somehow I was in possession of his phone for a short time and I snooped. (I normally don’t do this but I was curious for some strange reasons) anyways the text messages I saw on that phone made me a little worried. Different girls, different erotic messages. Children of these days! God help us, they are not conservative at all.

On a lighter note I have this bad habit I’v been trying to kick for 2 years now. I never noticed this until I started corporate work. I cant seem to leave my feet in my shoes. Once I sit down, unconsciously I take them shoes off. I’v tried to combat the problem by buying shoes with strap but unfortunately I don’t even realize when I take them off. Pls don’t tell me to go for flat corporate shoes. I absolutely hate them.

I have three weddings this weekend, plus ICAN classes 8am to 8pm. I don’t know how I’l juggle them. All these social responsibility is a huge blackmail, so is personal development. Maybe I’l skip all of them and read a novel at home. With the terrible week I had I guess it wont be too bad. Peace people. Enjoy the weekend.

first, the best way to shop here is to send people going to dubai/jand to do it for you.
sad but tru... then again i hear there are some 'under g' zones. know none tho.
bout ur 16yr old bro, you have to flash to urself at the end of sec. sch. and realise that u didnt feel like a kid then... i know for a fact i wrote and received erotic text when i was 16 myself! so i always have to stop myself from doing 'aunty' around my younger cousins.

goodluck juggling life! :)

Ok, from what i remember abt shopping in Lagos.....
Whatever you do, pls do not go near COLLECTIBLES!!! I'm very serious, infact, if not for the fact that tej was shut down, it'd definitely be a better option than dat yeye place.

On Adeniran Ogunsanya, there's this nice boutique, SOGGY"S COUTURE. Dunno if she's restocked lately, but i know aunty Joke has very good taste & she shops in diff places, e.g paris, milan, etc, so u have variety, not the regular same ole, same ole, jd stuff.

Another place you should not go to is Ikota. Shopping there usually costs a liver & a spleen!

Can't think of any others for now sha.

Abt ur brother, relax jooo, he is even a boy sef, what do you expect?

Dis ur weekend doesnt sound like fun @ all. I'll vote for the staying homw with a novel!

for open market, though teju is shut down, shops are still operating. but it depends on what u wanna buy. suits, go to teju or allen and opebi. shirts, pls go to balogun market and u will be shocked. once u enter that balogun str, first turn on ur right, all the way down and u will see clothes, ignore all of them and find ur way upstairs where u will find quality US and UK tops.
for shoes, u either stomach the boutiques on allen and opebi again, or u go to trade fair complex near satellite town, the balogun market part of it. there are few shoe shops, strong classy designer shoes. for dresses, stick to the boutiques. for bags, stick to the boutiques and let friends shop for u when they travel.

Okay for me, balogun is the place. I have some good shops i buy from but i dont even know how to describe them cos they don't have addresses.

I also can't keep my feet in my shoes, maybe cos they always hurt.

Am i the only one who feels pains in shoes?!!!

About your shoes, isn't it just natural to kick them off? If you're sitting down anyway, what's the fuss.

Am with you on the shoe thing o and just like you I hate flat corporate shoes even though I wear them sometimes. What I do however is wear my heals from home and change into comfortable mules when i get to work. Everyone in my office knows me for it and they've let me be. You may wanna try that.

i think we both belong to the same club then cos i cant seem to leave them shoes,

8am-8pm lectures? wow!!!

u musta gone shopping by now Doll, so my own bit might be coming in a bit late...lol

but depending on where u reside, i'll suggest Dressense on Allen (opposite oshopey plaza), trust me when i tell u that i'm a shopaholic and that woman is the bestest for italian suits (work clothes, skirts, pants etal) and at reasonable prices too!

then there's Alade, as in Alade market, there are some good boutiques scattered all over, and u'll find shoes as well.

Ikota shopping complex (suggested by Mizchif) is just okay, was sorta disappointed when i went there! the best i got were toiletries! and their prices are ridiculous!

Now, while Collectibles has lost its fame, dont strike them out totally if u are looking for stuff like jeans and pants. esp the one in Lekki

mostly i get my clothes from peeps who travel. they come by my office to sell... so

i hope this helps!

PARAKEET, the reverse is the case for me, i wear flats or slippers from home and change to heels at work!
